Conners History
The Conner family has been in the hospitality and restaurant business for generations in Ocean City. Conner's was the first restaurant to open on the boardwalk in 1886. The original location was on South Division St. After the death of George Conner, his wife bought the Hastings Miramar Hotel, located between 2nd and 3rd Sts and the boardwalk, the current address of Conner's Beach Cafe. The Hastings Hotel was torn down in the 70's and boardwalk shops were built in it's place. In 1989, Conner's first opened as a walk up stand, serving limited seafood and fresh cut sweet potato and french fries. The restaurant increased in size over the years with the biggest change taking place in 1999 when the third generation of the Conner family built the Park Place Hotel. The newly expanded Conner's Beach Cafe offers seating on two levels with a deck overlooking the beach and boardwalk. The extensive menu offers a breakfast buffet, sandwiches, seafood platters, salads, smoothies and ice cream. The tradition of the sweet potato fries continues.
